Paloma Stanar

UPDATE: Paloma has graduated.

I am a graduate student in the Moritz Lab. I am studying the different mechanisms of photoreceptor cell death in different genetic backgrounds of autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa in transgenic X. laevis. I am currently using the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing system to individually knock out various genes in transgenic retinas to measure their effect on retinal degeneration depending on the genetic background.
